Walla Walla City Guide

Located in southeastern Washington, Walla Walla sits among rolling fields just to the west of the nearby Blue Mountains. Its name comes from Native American origins and means "Place of Many Waters." Two colleges (Walla Walla College and Whitman College) make their home here, and the city is famous for its locally grown sweet onions. During the past few decades, the area has also gained notoriety as a major wine production region. Visitors to Walla Walla can explore the Whitman Mission National Historic Site or Fort Walla Walla Museum for a glimpse into the area's history, or take in a cultural event or concert at Whitman College's Cordiner Hall.
