Built in 1956 in northeast Spokane, Esmeralda offers open space and flat fairways lined with over 2,000 trees. Seniors and beginners alike find the par 70, 6,249-yard course a great haven and help to make it Spokane's most played municipal course.
Festivals in Spokane
Spokane hosts numerous festivals throughout the year celebrating everything from lilacs to literature, including several nationally renowned events. Hoopfest, the largest outdoor 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the country, takes place in early summer, and Get Lit!, an annual literary festival that features famous authors, is hosted by Eastern Washington University Press in April.

Indian Canyon Golf Course
Indian Canyon was designed in 1930 by H. Chandler Egan and opened for play in 1935. Indian Canyon has been chosen by Golf Digest as one of the top 25 public courses in the United States. The course sits atop the west entrance to Spokane, overlooking the city. Indian Canyon has hosted the USGA three times; the United States Amateur Public Links Championship in 1941 and 1984; and the United States Women's Amateur Public Links Championship in 1989. Indian Canyon now hosts the Rosauers Open, the largest PGA section event in the United States. Built on a canyon wall with a vertical drop of 240 feet amid many towering pines, it offers a diverse and unique playing environment requiring a deft touch if par of 72 is to be achieved over the hilly 6,255 yards.

Millwood Summer Farmers' Market

Ruben Trejo - Beyond Boundaries
Ruben Trejo is one of the regions most important and respected artists and his work is in many collections, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum collection. Aztlán y más allá is a survey of over 45 years of the artist's sculpture, mixed media constructions, paintings and drawings. The exhibition catalogue is being published by the University of Washington Press.

Spokane Falls Skyride
Get an awesome view of Spokane Falls while gliding through the air in an enclosed gondola. The Spokane Falls Skyride takes passengers on a 15-minute ride through the park and across the river, providing a spectacular vantage point for viewing the rushing waterfall.
