Extended Helicopter Glacier Trek
This trek is the ultimate Alaskan adventure on ice. It includes three hours hiking and climbing over the rugged terrain of the glacier. Upon landing, the guide teaches the adventurer the basics of glacier travel and then leads the group on an exploration of the most pristine and remote areas of the glacier.
The amount of walking is extensive and often on steep terrain with some technical climbing. No experience is necessary; however, one should be in good physical condition and have an open mind for adventure.
Minimum age: 16 years
Duration: Approximately 5 1/4 hours including transportation to and from our heliport, safety briefing and gearing up, helicopter flight and a 3-hour hike on the glacier.

Glacier Trekking in Juneau

Helicopter Glacier Trek
On this 2-hour hike, there is an early emphasis on learning the proper use of the mountaineering gear and understanding the glacier features and hazards so that more remote areas of the glacier can be accessed. The hike is interspersed with fun and interesting explanations of the glacier and the surrounding environment. No experience is necessary, though participants should be prepared for physical activity. Participants should be comfortable hiking approximately two miles over uneven and sometimes steep terrain.
Minimum age: 12 years
Duration: Approximately 4 1/4 hours including transportation to and from our heliport, safety briefing and gearing up, helicopter flight and a 2-hour hike on the glacier.

Helicopter Glacier Walkabout
On this non-strenuous, one-hour interpretive walk, the guide will provide detailed explanations of glacier environments and allow ample time for photo opportunities. Trekking poles and crampons will provide superb balance and traction enabling the adventurer to travel easily on the gently rolling glacial terrain. The amount of walking is moderate, over relatively flat to rolling terrain.
Minimum Age: 8 years
Duration: approximately 3 1/4 hours including transportation to and from the heliport, safety briefing and gearing up, helicopter flight and a one-hour walk on the glacier.
