  Constructed in 1699, San Javier Mission is the second-oldest mission in Baja California. A church that still holds regular services anchors the stone-and-masonry mission. A visit to San Javier is like being transported back to colonial Mexico-indeed, very little of the mission's grounds have been altered since its settlement.

  Loreto Bay National Marine Park is more than just a national treasure, its status as a United Nations-classified World Heritage Site makes it one of the most important sanctuaries on the planet.
