My Account profile needs to be created for that mileage plan number to access the Companion Certificate.
How do I get my $50 Companion Certificate?
The Bank of America Companion Certificate is an electronic certificate that can be accessed by signing into your My Account. This certificate is issued once a year and is automatically added to your My Account profile under "My Discount Codes". You can redeem your Companion Certificate by clicking on "Shop", which will automatically enter your Discount Code in the Reservations page, or you can enter the discount code manually in the Discount Code box while booking your tickets.
How do I use my Companion Certificate when I make a reservation?
Your Bank of America Companion Certificate can be applied to a new reservation through our Web site, or with Reservations over the phone for a small processing fee.
Your Reservations must be made for 2 people traveling together at the same time in the same reservation. When filling out your flight information for a new reservation, you will see a field to type in your "Discount Code." After continuing, the companion fare discount will be reflected. The companion certificate will not be redeemed until you have filled out the Billing information and clicked "Purchase", which will then generate a 6-letter confirmation code.

Our system does not allow you to store a Discount Code in a held reservation. In order to apply a Discount Code to a held reservation, you will need to
retrieve the held record and click on the link "Enter a Discount Code" located under the Fare Summary and Purchase Options. Once entered, you will need to continue with your purchase.

The expiration date listed for your Bank of America Companion Certificate indicates the date you must redeem your certificate and ticket your reservation by. Once ticketed, travel can be completed after the expiration date.
