How can I redeem a Mileage Plan™ Award?

There are two award redemption options:

Book Online:

For Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, and select Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines and American Airlines destinations you can book award travel online.

Book by Phone:

For Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air Money & Miles (AS50), Super Saver, Choice and Full Flex Awards or First Class Upgrade Awards on Alaska Airlines, please call 1-800-ALASKAAIR(1-800-252-7522). For Partner Awards, please call 1-800-307-6912. Tickets issued by Reservations will incur a $15 (USD) service fee.

What are the different Award Types?

  • Miles and Money Award - Starting at 7,500 Miles One Way or 15,000 Round Trip - Valid on itineraries with flights operated only by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. Receive up to a 50% discount on most fares. Maximum discount allowed is $250 (USD) off of the base fare. Earn 50% Mileage Plan Miles when traveling on this award. Complimentary upgrades not allowed.
  • Super Saver Award - Starting at 7,500 Miles One Way - Valid on itineraries with flights operated only by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, and PenAir in and out of Dutch Harbor. Availability is limited.
  • Choice Award - Starting at 12,500 Miles One Way - Valid on itineraries with flights operated by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, and PenAir in and out of Dutch Harbor. Availability is greater than Super Saver awards.
  • Full Flex Award - Starting at 17,500 Miles One Way - Valid on itineraries with flights operated only by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, and PenAir in and out of Dutch Harbor." Availability is not limited, and there are no blackout dates.
  • Partner Award - Starting at 25,000 Miles Round Trip - Valid on itineraries with flights operated by partner airlines. Availability is limited.

Can I redeem my Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles on another airline?

Yes, you can book award travel online for select Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines, and American Airlines destinations. We have numerous other major airline partners. For information on award travel not available online, please call our Partner Desk at 1-800-307-6912.

Can I change my award reservation?

To make changes to select award reservations on Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air and Mileage Plan Partner flights, use alaskaair.com®.

How do I cancel my award reservation?

To cancel award reservations that contain only Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air and Mileage Plan Partner flights, use alaskaair.com®.

Mileage Award and Money & Miles (AS50) Award Cancellation

Mileage Award reservations may be canceled, and your miles will be redeposited. Taxes will be refunded to the original form of payment.

For Super Saver and Choice Mileage Award tickets, Alaska Airlines assesses a $75 (USD) per person Cancellation Fee for canceling a confirmed itinerary at alaskaair.com. Cancellations made through an Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air Reservations Call Center or Airport Ticket Counter are assessed a $100 (USD) per person Cancellation Fee.

This fee is waived if cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the original booking on U.S., Canada, or Mexico itineraries, or if cancellation occurs within 72 hours of the original booking for other international itineraries.

Money & Miles (AS50) Award tickets may also be canceled. For refundable (unrestricted) fares, the cost of the fare will be refunded to the original form of purchase. For nonrefundable (restricted fare) Money & Miles (AS50) Award tickets, the value of an unused ticket may be used as credit toward a future purchase.

Alaska Airlines assesses a $75 (USD) per person Cancellation Fee for canceling a confirmed itinerary with a nonrefundable fare at alaskaair.com. Nonrefundable ticket cancellations made through an Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air Reservations Call Center or Airport Ticket Counter are assessed a $100 (USD) per person Cancellation Fee.

This fee is waived if cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the original booking on U.S., Canada, or Mexico itineraries, or if cancellation occurs within 72 hours of the original booking for other international itineraries.

Passenger is responsible for the following taxes and fees on award travel: September 11th U.S. Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement. A $25 (USD) nonrefundable fee per person for each award booked on a partner airline. Additionally to Canada: U.S. Immigration User Fee of $7; U.S. Aphis Fee of $5.00; Canadian Airport Improvement Fee (varies by airport); Canadian Security Fee of $9 (fluctuates with exchange rate). All taxes are subject to change without notice due to government discretion. All taxes and fees shown are in USD based on one-way travel and may be doubled if traveling round-trip. End of content.
