The following baggage rules apply only when traveling on flights operated by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. If your itinerary includes travel on another airline, please check the other airline's Web site for their specific baggage rules.
You're allowed one carry-on bag, which can measure up to 10" H x 17" W x 24" L (25 x 43 x 61 cm) including wheels and handles, plus one personal item, such as a purse, briefcase or laptop computer. At least one of the items should be stowed under the seat in front of you.
Items exceeding the free carry-on allowance (see exceptions below) will be charged $25 per piece and tagged for delivery to baggage claim at the customer’s destination.
Important: Keys, medication, and travel documents should always be packed in your carry-on baggage.

Horizon Air Ala Cart Service
Horizon Air offers its unique Ala Cart planeside carry-on service for their customers. Due to the smaller dimensions of overhead storage and underseat space, passengers may place larger carry-on items on a planeside cart before boarding. These items will be specially tagged and returned to the cart for retrieval at a designated area on the ramp or jetway as the passenger deplanes. Just find the red and white stop sign and your bags will be there within 5 minutes of deplaning. Fragile or high-value items should be carried into the cabin with you, and not left on the planeside cart.
The maximum dimensions for an Ala Cart bag is 10" H x 17" W x 24" L (25 x 43 x 61 cm) including wheels and handles.
Prohibited Items
Many common items used everyday in the home or workplace may seem harmless; however, when transported by air, they can be very dangerous. In flight, variations in temperature and pressure can cause items to leak, generate toxic fumes, or start a fire.
Please refer to the Permitted and Prohibited Items of the Transportation and Security Administration (TSA) website for a complete list of items which are federally restricted from being carried onboard our aircraft.
In addition to the items found on the TSA website, Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have additional restrictions on carrying or checking the following items:
