The fastest way to free travel is with the Alaska Airlines Card – you get 5,000 Bonus Miles upon approval of the Platinum or Signature card, and one mile for every dollar you spend using the card – gas, groceries, utilities, you name it – use your Alaska Airlines Card and you’re pretty much guaranteed to earn miles for it.
In addition to earning a mile for every dollar you spend, you'll get a $50 Companion Ticket when you get the card, and every year you hold the card.
