The key to meeting these challenges is to foster a mutual understanding and respect for each other and the customers we serve. We're doing that by better aligning our company's vision, goals and policies with our diversity and inclusion efforts. Through a solid infrastructure, leadership and accountability we've already realized some great progress.
In the area of recruitment, it starts with attracting and retaining diverse talent. It has been the unique experiences and perspectives from our employees that have allowed us to become leaders in aviation technologies and world-class customer service. An inclusive workplace fuels trust and allows new ideas to be embraced that may soon become the wave of the future.
The efforts surrounding diversity and inclusion don't stop here. We have developed a three-year strategy that encompasses a wide array of employee and customer touch points to improve they way we show the value of diversity. Our strategy consists of 65 individual initiatives ranging from the establishment of a Diversity and Inclusion Business Council to ensure diversity of thought is considered with all key initiatives, the development of an upward mobility plan for under represented groups, and building an even more robust supplier diversity program. We also plan to expand our community and governmental relations so we become more of an active participant in the communities we serve, not just a financial contributor.
That said, let's all continue to work together in making these strategies a reality and diversity and inclusion an essential part of our everyday life.
