With our history rooted in the magnificent beauty of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, caring for the environment has always been natural for us. Long before 'green' was in, we've been mindful of our impact on the land and sky. Our pioneering spirit has driven a continuous pursuit of innovative ways to increase operational efficiency and reduce our environmental footprint — from paperless ticketing and electronic Mileage Plan statements to our fuel-efficient fleets and a program that enables about a third of our reservations agents to work from home.

It's all part of our vision to build cultures at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air that fully integrate sustainable environmental practices into our business of providing safe, reliable air travel with industry-leading customer service. To achieve this vision, we are integrating environmental stewardship into daily operational and decision-making processes throughout the company. We're also promoting awareness of environmental concerns, actions and consequences to instill a sense of responsibility in every one of our employees.
