Rule 200AS - Children's and Infants Fares

  1. Children's Fares
    1. Accompanied children less than 2 years old. For one child less than 2 years old, accompanied by an adult fare-paying passenger at least 15 years old, and not occupying a seat, there is no charge. Each additional child less than 2 years old accompanied by the same passenger who is traveling with the first child less than 2 years old will be charged the same fare as the fare for an adult passenger traveling in the same class of service. Proof of child's age may be requested at time of purchase, check in, and/or boarding.
    2. Children age 2-12, whether accompanied or unaccompanied, will be charged the same fare as for an adult passenger in the same class of service.
    3. The age limits referred to are those in effect on the date of commencement of each travel segment.
    4. Unaccompanied Children: Please see Rule 25 for provisions pertaining to unaccompanied children

Rule 210AS - Free and Reduced Rate Transportation for Tour Conductors

  1. Definitions
    1. Sponsoring Carrier means that carrier which provides the initial transportation on a tour itinerary.
    2. Tour Organizer means any person who arranges/promotes an advertised group tour.
    3. Advertised Group Tour means a prepaid tour involving a round/circle-trip, promoted/advertised in literature.
    4. Passenger means a person paying full fare of 2 children under 12 years old, paying the applicable children's fare.
    5. Tour Conductor means an Air Traffic Conference of America (ATC) agent or specifically named employee/representative of such agent who is in charge of and guides the group, in person, over all/part of the itinerary.
  2. Number of Passengers Required: One tour conductor may travel free for each group of at least 15, traveling together on an advertised group tour. For groups of 10-14, the tour conductor will be charged 50 percent of the applicable fare. Exception 1: The number of tour conductors is limited to 2 per group. Exception 2: The advertised group tour requirements do not apply.
  3. Application for free and reduced transportation the group organizer must submit in time to permit processing before departure.
    1. Written application designating tour conductor(s).
    2. Copies of literature advertising the tour, including:
      1. Descriptive copy indicating air transportation, hotel accommodations, other features to be provided at stopover points, and the total cost. Note: For incentive programs, the cost need not be shown.
      2. The names of the carriers to be used. Exception: When travel begins from more than 2 points and involves connecting service via 2 or more carriers, the descriptive copy may substitute material promoting air transportation via ATC members in lieu of names of the carriers to be used.
    3. When travel is via more than one carrier, the sponsoring carrier will arrange for issuance of free and/or reduced fare transportation by any other carrier involved.
  4. Rebating
    1. Free and/or reduced transportation granted to a tour conductor may not be used to rebate the cost of the tour to the fare-paying passengers.
    2. Free and/or reduced transportation will be granted only to the tour conductor designated in the original application, except, in the event of death/incapacity of such person, free or reduced transportation will be issued to another person on request of the group organizer and with the approval of the sponsoring carrier.
  5. Travel of Group Members
    1. Passengers must travel together on the air portion.
    2. Passengers must begin travel on the same aircraft and:
      1. for round-trips, travel to the outward destination together.
      2. for circle-trips, travel to the first point of stopover together.
    3. The carrier may separate members of the group and transport them on succeeding flights when lack of seating accommodations or other operating conditions prevents the group from traveling together.
  6. Baggage: The baggage allowance and excess baggage charges for a tour conductor will be the same as for the normal adult fare.

Rule 550AS - Passengers Occupying Two Seats

Via AS, upon advance arrangement and subject to availability of space, a passenger may use 2 adjacent seats. The charge for the extra seat is 50 percent of the full (Y, YASM, YIAS, F, FASM, FIAS) fare or 100 percent of the applicable adult fare, whichever is less. The free baggage allowance for such passenger will be twice the normal passengers requiring incubators and life support systems.

Rule 551AS - Passengers Requiring Incubators and Life Support Systems

AS will accept infants in incubators and passengers who require respiratory devices/other life support systems in Rule 50 (Oxygen Service), for transportation under the following conditions, subject to Rule 25 (Refusal to Transport):

  1. Infants in incubators and passengers requiring respiratory devices/other life support systems must be accompanied by a trained attendant who can be expected to provide assistance in the event of an emergency.
  2. Advance notification is required so that Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval may be obtained.
  3. A medical certificate from a licensed authority, indicating fitness for air travel, will be required.
  4. When an additional seat is required for such devices, other than provided for in rule 50 (Oxygen Service) or Rule 500 (Passengers on Stretchers), the charge will be an extra seat charge set forth in Rule 16 (Cabin-Seat Baggage). Exception: 3 seats are required for transportation of one infant in an incubator and one attendant. The charge will be 2 adult fares.

Rule 999AS - Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan

  1. Membership: Membership is open to any individual and is subject to local laws regarding taxation or participation in or about frequent flyer programs. Alaska Airlines reserves the right to cancel a mileage plan account, void all mileage credit, and cancel previously issued ticket, awards and certificates under any account which is used by more than one person or determined to be used fraudulently.
  2. Crediting: Alaska Airlines offer mileage credit on all Alaska Airlines flights and mileage with participating travel partners as per individual contract. The following types of tickets are not eligible for mileage credit:
    1. Individuals traveling on VUSA fares, charter flights, bulk fares, Denied Boarding Compensation (BTT), certain sub-contracted flights, free mileage plan award tickets, or any tickets that do not display a fare.
    2. Individuals traveling on travel industry reduced rates or non-revenue tickets or passes.
    3. Alaska Airlines reserves the right to determine the eligibility of new fare types as they become available.
    4. Mileage credit is based on the nonstop mileage between the origin and destination indicated on the ticket.
  3. Award Certificates: Alaska airlines offers free and discounted awards on Alaska Airlines and with our travel partners as per individual contract agreements.
    1. Full name, both first and last, must be specified when requesting an awards. Initials are not acceptable.
    2. Award certificates may not be used for prepaid tickets or ticket by mail.
    3. Award travel does not apply to charter flights, subcontract services or interchange flights.
    4. All procedures, terms and conditions stated on the individual tickets/awards apply unless restrictions are later imposed.
    5. Mileage plan award certificates, as well as free or discounted tickets issued from the awards, may not be sold or bartered. Award certificates or airline tickets determined by Alaska Airlines to have been sold or bartered are void and may not be honored when presented for travel. Alaska Airlines reserves the right to confiscate and void Mileage Plan award certificates and airline tickets.
    6. Awards may be subject to blackout dates and capacity controls. All awards are subject to change without notice.
  4. Travel Partners: Other airlines and travel related businesses participate in the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. Travel partner participants offer mileage accumulation and award options as negotiated in individual contracts.
    1. Alaska Airlines is not responsible for the actions of its travel partners.
    2. Alaska Airlines is not responsible for travel partner withdrawals from the program or for award cancellations caused by travel partner withdrawals, discontinued service on Alaska Airlines or travel partners, or cancellation of award or mileage accrual to any destinations for any reason.
    3. Hotel, car or other similar bonus awards are subject to change or discontinuation without notice and have no mileage value.
  5. Upgrades: Mileage Plan members have the opportunity to upgrade from Coach to First Class when using upgrades in combination with purchased ticket.
    1. Redemptive upgrades: Members have the option to redeem 10,000 miles for an upgrade to First Class to be used in combination with any published Alaska Airlines fare. Each 10,000 mile redemption is valid for one-way travel on Alaska Airlines flight series 1-999 only. Note: The ticket being upgraded must be issued on Alaska Airlines 027 ticket stock.
  6. Bank Card: Members earn mileage when using their Alaska Airlines/Bank of America card for the purchase of goods and services, excluding cash advances, travelers checks, firstchecks, annual fees, and interest charges. Annual fees apply.
