Codeshare Travel Information

What is Codesharing?

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have partnered with many of the world's best airlines to provide you with seamless service to over 381 cities in the U.S. and throughout the world. "Codesharing" allows Alaska and Horizon to sell a partner carrier's flight (or vice versa) using the marketing carrier's (the airline who sells the flight) two letter airline code and flight numbers.

You benefit by having a greater number of destinations and flight choices on multiple airlines that can be conveniently booked through a single source ... alaskaair.com. Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have codesharing arrangements with most of our Mileage Plan partners.

Core benefits through our codesharing partnerships include:

  • One stop reservations and ticketing
  • One stop check in providing seat assignments, boarding passes, and baggage check to final destination
  • Coordinated flight schedules providing more flight choices with quick and easy connections
  • Ability to earn and redeem Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles
  • Consistent passenger service standards and procedures

Checking In for Codeshare Flights

When checking in for a codeshare flight, be sure to check-in with the operating carrier. That means the actual airline providing the air service. In the example below, the flight has an Alaska Airlines flight number, but is operated by American Airlines. You would check in with American.
