The World Health Organization (WHO), a U.N. Agency, Raises Pandemic Alert
Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air continue to monitor the current conditions surrounding the outbreak of influenza in and around Mexico. The safety of our customers and employees is our highest priority. The following options are being provided if your travel is impacted by the outbreak.
Change Policy

- If you wish to change travel dates, but fly to the same destination leaving prior to May 20, 2009, changes fees will be waived. Additional fare collection will apply to flights not available at the originally ticketed fare.
- If you wish to keep your travel date, but change your destination and travel by May 20, 2009, and your new fare is lower you will be credited the difference between your new and old fares. Change fees will still be waived. Additional fare collection will apply if the new destination fare is higher than the originally ticketed fare.
- Passengers can also change the city AND/OR the travel date to depart after May 20, 2009, and the change fee will be waived. Additional fare collection will apply if the fare has increased at the time the ticket is reissued.

Protecting Your Health
We are continuing to operate a normal schedule and diligently follow all government recommendations to protect the health and safety of our employees and customers. Although we're operating a normal schedule right now, as always, please check the status of your flight before heading to the airport.
We are also taking the following additional precautions:
- Removing pillows and blankets from all aircraft.
- Expanding interior aircraft cleaning on flights from Mexico by using a disinfectant and sanitizer with virucidal (virus-killing) agents used against multiple types of flu. This cleaner, registered with the Environmental Protection Agency, provides a lasting microbial barrier to prevent recontamination of surfaces. Surfaces receiving special attention include walls, windows and shades, seat armrests and tray tables, passenger air vents, overhead bin doors and handles, and galleys and lavatories.
- Disinfecting wipes will also be stocked onboard aircraft.

We will continue to closely monitor updates from the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization, and take any additional actions necessary to protect the health of customers and employees.
