Do gift cards expire?

No. Gift Cards do not expire, and partially used gift cards will maintain their balance until the entire amount is used.

Is a gift card the same as a Discount Code?

No. A Discount Code has no cash value and is used to reduce airfares for special offers and promotions. A gift card has a stored value and is treated as cash.

Do you have gift certificates?

What is the difference between gift certificates and gift cards?

Gift certificates are purchased on alaskaair.comĀ® using a credit card only, and available in $25 - $500 (USD) increments. Gift cards are purchased at participating stores using debit, credit or cash, and available in $50 and $100 (USD) denominations.

Is there a service fee for using my gift card?

No. Gift cards have no service fees.

What do I do if my gift card is not activated?

Return the gift card and receipt to the place of purchase.

How do I check my gift card balance?

Use your gift card code and PIN to check your balance on the View Gift Card or Certificate Balance page.

Can I use gift cards to make purchases at your call center, ticket counter, or at a travel agency?

No. Gift cards can only be redeemed at alaskaair.com.

Can gift cards be used for ticketing fees, service fees, or resale items (e.g. ticket exchange fee, excess baggage fee, pet fee, bike box, pet kennel, etc.)?

No. Gift cards can only be redeemed at alaskaair.com for flights on Alaska Airlines.

Can gift cards be used on board the aircraft to purchase food or beverages?

No. Gift cards can only be redeemed at alaskaair.com for flights on Alaska Airlines.

I'm having a problem with my gift card, who do I contact?

Contact our Customer Care department, toll free, at 1-800-654-5669, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. (PT) Monday through Friday.

What should I do if I lose my gift card?

Alaska Airlines is not responsible for lost or stolen gift cards. If you have a My Account profile on alaskaair.com, you may deposit an unlimited number of gift cards into your My Wallet to keep them secure.

If a ticket cost $150 (USD) and I have a $100 gift card, can I use a credit card to pay the balance?

Yes. When the value of a gift card does not cover the full value of the new ticket you wish to purchase, you may pay the difference with a credit card.

What if the value of my gift card is more than the price of my ticket?

If the ticket price is less than the value of the gift card, the remaining balance of the gift card will be available for future purchases.

Can I transfer the balance of a gift card to another gift card?

No. Gift cards cannot be combined. You may use up to four gift cards when purchasing a new flight reservation on alaskaair.com. If you have a My Account profile on alaskaair.com, you may also deposit an unlimited number of gift cards into your My Wallet.

Can I use multiple gift cards at one time?

Yes. You can redeem up to four gift cards per reservation. Any unused funds will remain on the gift card, and remain available for use on a later purchase. If you have a My Account profile on alaskaair.com, you may also deposit an unlimited number of gift cards into your My Wallet.

May I reload my gift card?

No. Our gift cards cannot be reloaded. Once they are used, they can be discarded.

Can I use gift cards on other airlines?

Gift cards can only be redeemed on alaskaair.com for flights on Alaska Airlines.

Can you earn miles on tickets purchased with gift cards?

Yes. Applicable tickets purchased with gift cards will earn miles.

If a gift card balance remains unused, is the money lost?

No. Gift cards have no expiration date. Partially used gift cards will maintain their balance until the entire amount is used. If you have a My Account profile on alaskaair.com, you can combine and track your unused balances by depositing gift cards into your My Wallet.

If I purchase a refundable ticket with a gift card and refund the ticket, does the money go back onto the gift card?

No. A new online gift certificate will be issued in the amount of the refund and sent to the original purchaser's email address within 7 business days.
