Winter Storm Pandora

Winter weather may affect flights to and from Baltimore, Boston, New York/Newark, Philadelphia, or Washington, DC. We will continue to closely monitor the weather and are offering the following waiver if you prefer to postpone or cancel your plans:

Event Travel To/From Tickets Purchased On/Before Original Travel Dates Exception Policy
Winter Storm Pandora Baltimore (BWI), Boston (BOS), New York/Newark (EWR), Philadelphia (PHL), or Washington DC (DCA). February 21, 2015. February 21 - 22, 2015. We will waive the change fees and the difference in the price of your ticket, if your new travel is booked in the same cabin and completed on or before February 25, 2015. You may also request a refund if you have chosen not to travel at all. Refunds must be requested by February 25, 2015.

Additional Information

  • Passengers with tickets scheduled for travel on the affected dates may request a full refund with no fee.
  • Unaccompanied Minors will not be accepted into or through the above cities.
  • Pets shipped via Alaska Air Cargo will not be accepted.
  • Pets traveling with their passenger in the cabin will be accepted.
  • Hotel/Food/Ground Transportation amenities will not be provided by Alaska Airlines.

We will waive the change fees and the difference in the price of your ticket, if your new travel is booked in the same cabin and completed on or before February 21, 2015. You may also request a refund if you have chosen not to travel at all. Refunds must be requested by February 18, 2015.

Regional Advisories

San Francisco (SFO) Airport Terminal Change: Alaska Airlines has relocated to the International Terminal, Boarding Area A while Terminal 1 is remodeled. All flights, both domestic and international, will board out of concourse A. Alaska is relocating to make way for a complete rebuild of Boarding Area B and a new 24-gate facility planned for 2020. Once open, Alaska will move back into the remodeled terminal.

Travel from Canada: Passengers are experiencing longer than normal wait times at security checkpoints when departing from Canada. We recommend the following to help expedite the process through security lines and US Border Protection in Calgary (YYC), Edmonton (YEG), and Vancouver (YVR).

  • Arrive at the airport for check-in at least 2 hours prior to scheduled departure at Calgary (YYC), Edmonton (YEG), and Vancouver (YVR) airports.
  • Make sure you have your boarding pass and passport ready to present for verification at the security checkpoint and US Customs.
  • Know what items are prohibited to take through the checkpoint, you can check prohibited items at catsa.gc.ca/whatcanIbring.
