Alaska Airlines offers multiple options for upgrading into the First Class cabin. Use your Mileage Plan™ Miles to upgrade in advance, request a Paid Upgrade during check-in or at the departure gate, and if you're an Elite Level Mileage Plan™ member, you can upgrade for free.
Mileage Plan™ Upgrades
To shop for fares that qualify for Mileage Upgrade, and to view available upgrade space, please select Mileage Upgrade as your Upgrade Preference option when shopping for flights to view available upgrade seats and ensure that the fare you purchase is eligible for an upgrade.
Once your ticket is purchased, redeem a First Class Upgrade Award by calling Alaska Airlines Reservations at 1-800-252-7522.
Upgrades can also be requested, if available, within 24 hours of flight departure through Web Check-In, or on the day of departure at an airport Check-In Kiosk.

Mileage Upgrades are booked in "U" Class and are subject to availability. Mileage Upgrades are valid on Alaska Airlines operated flights only. Upgrades do not include stopovers, and exclude award travel and industry discounts. Mileage Upgrades may be used in conjunction with Money & Miles (AS50) Awards. Upgrades are subject to availability as "U" Class may not be available on all flights. Tickets must be booked in Y, S, B, M, or H classes of service to use an Upgrade Award. Passengers upgraded after baggage has been accepted are not eligible for a refund of baggage fees paid.

Paid Upgrades may be available within 24 hours of flight departure through Web Check-In. They may be available on the calendar day of departure at a Kiosk, airport ticket counter, or at the departure gate.
