Conditions of Travel

Alaska Airlines offers hotel & car packages, flight & car packages, and complete vacation packages which include air travel on Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air/SkyWest. Minimum stay in conjunction with the package is 3 days/2 nights, including day of travel. Some hotels have additional minimum night stays. Reservations are subject to hotel availability and blackout dates. Most vacation package airfares are not upgradable to First Class. If you wish to have the ability to upgrade, please contact a sales agent to reprice your package. Vacation packages to the State of Alaska are offered in conjunction with our partners and are not covered by these terms and conditions.

Late Reservations

In order to offer the best possible service in confirming your hotel and air arrangements, Alaska Airlines Vacations must have three business days' advance notice prior to departure in order to process a reservation request. No changes are allowed to any existing booking within 3 days of travel.


For reservations made in the call center, a deposit of $100 (USD) per person is due within seven days of booking or reservation is subject to cancellation without notice. Vacation Protection Plan, if purchased, is also due at time of deposit. Reservations will cancel by 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time on the seventh day if no payment is made. Some air fares, hotels and features may require full payment at the time of booking.

Full payment is required when booking directly at Cancellations are allowed within 24 hours of booking online, with a refund except for applicable supplier fees.


Full payment (USD) is required no later than 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time, 30 days prior to departure or the reservation is subject to cancellation without notice. Reservations made 30 days or less prior to departure must be paid in full at the time of booking. Non-refundable items require full payment at the time of booking. If booking directly at, note that full payment is always due at the time the reservation is made.

All major credit cards are accepted. Payments made by MCO or check within 21 days of travel must be received within 24 hours. A $25 service fee will be charged for all NSF checks.

The Canadian equivalent quoted at time of booking is guaranteed if paid in full by MCO or check within seven days of booking.


Alaska Airlines Vacations will send travel documents for your vacation via email after final payment has been made. Late payment may cause reservations to be canceled without notice. Some items on your package may require you to present a voucher. If a voucher is required, failure to present a voucher will result in cancellation of the item without a refund.


Changes to your vacation package can be made by calling 1-800-468-2248 .

Once deposit is paid, a fee of $125(USD) per reservation will be assessed for changes made within 60 days of travel. No changes may be made to non-refundable items. No changes may be made within 3 days of travel.

For travel encompassing December 28-31, no refunds will be given after 3 p.m. PST on November 29.

No refunds will be made for missed or unused flights or most features.

No refunds will be allowed for dropping a passenger within 3 days of travel.

Changes to non-refundable options will be charged the amount of the originally booked component as well as the change fees listed above. The cost of the new component will be added to the package price.

Alaska Airlines Vacations and hotel suppliers must be informed of the names of replacement passengers prior to departure but reserves the right to deny any revision or replacement.

Any changes to names, ages, number of passengers or itinerary is subject to availability and prices at the time of the change which could result in an add collect in addition to the change fee.

A change to all names on the reservation is considered a complete cancel. Name changes made to confirmed hotels, car rental or activity may be considered a cancellation, which may result in the loss of the room originally booked and/or an increase in your package price.

Cancellations / Refunds

For complete cancellations a $200.00 (USD) (15% of the reservation for Las Vegas) per reservation cancellation fee applies once deposit or full payment has been paid. Complete cancellations 15 - 30 days prior to departure will be charged 25% (USD) of the reservation. Complete cancellations within 14 days of travel are 100% non-refundable.

For travel encompassing December 28-31, no refunds will be given after 3 p.m. PST on November 29.

Some suppliers' cancellation policies may be more restrictive in which case those would be charged in addition to Alaska Airlines Vacations cancellation policies. You may avoid cancellation fees by purchasing the Vacation Protection Plan at the time of your original purchase. Vacation Protection Plan only applies to complete package cancellations, not cancellation of individual components.

Unused services are not refundable, including early checkout.

Refunds must be requested within 60 days following cancellation of the Alaska Airlines Vacations Package. Allow six to eight weeks for refund processing.

No Show

Failure to notify Alaska Airlines of cancellation prior to departure will result in 100% cancellation fee. Failure to use any service or present applicable voucher will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee, and cancellation of down-line air space.

Travel Agents

Some components of your package may be non-refundable at the time of booking. Please check individual components for any additional fees that may apply. Travel agents will receive a debit memo for applicable fees if payment has not been received by Alaska Airlines.

Please note that specific terms do vary by hotel or service provider, and it is important that you refer to the policies listed in the hotel information pages in the reservation system for any fees in addition to those listed. When checking these policies, you must add one business day to the number of days indicated in our supplier profile cancellation policies, to avoid penalties. In the event no cancellation policy is stated in a hotel's profile, the booking is non-refundable.

Passengers checking in with one of our airline partners, or on a codeshare flight may be subject to additional checked baggage restrictions. Please check with the operating carrier for more information regarding their baggage allowance and fees.


Rates are in U.S. dollars. All rates are subject to change without notice, including but not limited to increases in taxes, government-imposed fees, surcharges, or airfare and hotel prices. Alaska Airlines Vacations reserves the right to re-invoice your reservation should an error be made in computing your package price.


Hotel rooms included in Alaska Airlines Vacations Packages are on a standard room run-of-house basis (unless otherwise specified) with size and location at the hotel management's discretion. Special requests; i.e., bed types, location, rollaway, cribs, etc., are on request and subject to availability and are not guaranteed. Additional fees may apply to requests.

Note: For bookings to British Columbia - an adult under British Columbia law is age 19. Therefore, no one under the age of 19 can check into a hotel room by themselves. For bookings in Las Vegas and Reno- a person must be at least 21 years of age to check into a room by themselves.

Alaska Airlines Vacations reserves the right to substitute hotels if necessary.

The package price includes the applicable hotel taxes. The price does not include resort fees (unless otherwise noted) or gratuities. Some hotels charge an energy surcharge, meals (unless otherwise noted), rollaway and/or crib charges, parking fees, telephone fees and guest incidentals. This will be added to your bill upon check-out.

Check-In and Check-Out Times

Check-in time varies, check individual hotel policy for specific policies. Most hotels will hold luggage until check-in.

Car Rentals

Car rental prices shown are for a 24-hour period for each day purchased. Weekly rates require a minimum rental, otherwise daily rates apply. Car rentals include unlimited mileage, check individual polices for exception. Drop off fees may apply to one-way rentals. Fuel, tax, additional drivers and optional coverage and infant seats are not included and are payable directly to the car rental agency. Call Alaska Airlines Vacations for details.

A credit card (or cash deposit on domestic packages) will be required at the time of rental for any charges not included in the prepaid voucher; e.g., fuel, tax, additional drivers, optional coverages or infant seats. Infant seats are available at domestic locations only, on request only and are not guaranteed. Avis does not accept debit cards.

Renters must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. A surcharge may apply for renters under the age of 25. Additional drivers must be 25 years of age and an additional driver fee may apply. Advance reservations are required and availability is limited.

Airport Transfers

If purchased, additional information regarding airport transfers will be included in your final tour documentation. Refer to your E-Travel Document for transfer information specific to your Vacation Package.

If airfare was not purchased through Alaska Airlines Vacations and package includes airport/hotel transfers, Alaska Airlines must be advised of the flight numbers, flight arrival and departure times, and dates of travel at least 4 days prior to departure, in order to arrange and provide your transfers. Failure to do this will result in a forfeiture of transfers and no refund will be given.


Additional information regarding features will be included in your final tour documentation. Some features may require you to present a voucher. If a voucher is required, failure to present a voucher will result in cancellation of the feature without a refund. Electronic copies of vouchers are not accepted. A link to the voucher will be provided with our E-Travel Documents and must be printed. Refer to your E-Travel Document for requirements regarding confirmation and reservations of your features. Some features may have additional cancellation/change fees or may be non refundable.

Vacation Protection Plan

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may force you to cancel or interrupt your vacation plans. As your vacation package includes cancellation penalties, we highly recommend you purchase the Vacation Protection Plan. The Vacation Protection Plan must be purchased when paying your deposit.

Part A: Pre-Departure Cancellation Penalty Waiver - For just $45.00 (USD) per person (subject to change), you may cancel for any reason up until four hours prior to departure and receive a full refund ($100.00 (USD) per person will be refunded in the form of a travel credit). Travel credits may be applied toward payment of future Alaska Airlines Vacations Packages only, with the exception of the State of Alaska. Alaska Airlines Vacations must be properly notified of the cancellation, as the VPP does not apply to "No Show" situations. A No Show is defined as a failure to notify Alaska Airlines Vacations of a cancellation prior to four hours before departure. Note that the VPP does not cover revision fees nor additional per person occupancy rates that may occur if the number of travelers changes.

Part B: Post-Departure Travel Insurance - This part of the policy applies to covered reasons only, and goes into effect when you depart on your trip and includes the following features:

  • Trip Interruption - Covers unused land or water travel arrangements, plus additional airfare expense to return home, if you interrupt your trip due to sickness, injury or death of you, a Traveling Companion, or Immediate Family Member or for Other Covered Events as defined.
  • Trip Delay - Covers up to $100 (USD) per day (maximum of $500 (USD)) for accommodation and meal expense for a covered delay of 12 hours or more. Baggage Insurance - Covers up to $1,000 (USD) for loss, damage or theft of your baggage or personal effects.
  • Baggage Delay - Covers up to $100 (USD) for purchase of additional clothing, etc. when your baggage is delayed 24 hours or more.
  • Medical Expense Emergency Assistance - Covers up to $25,000 (USD) for physician; hospital; emergency dental treatment during your trip; and emergency transportation costs to home or an appropriate hospital including escort expense (both, if deemed necessary by the attending physician) required as a result of a covered sickness or injury which occurs while you are on your trip.
  • 24-Hour Hotline Help - The Travel Protection Plan includes a 24-hour help hotline for medical and travel related problems.
  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment - Covers up to $25,000 (USD) for a loss which occurs from a covered injury during your trip. Conditions and Limitations: Certain exclusions and limitations apply and are detailed in the Description of Coverage. For example, coverage does not apply to: any sickness or condition of you, a Traveling Companion or an Immediate Family Member traveling with you that existed during the 60 days prior to the effective date of the coverage (this exclusion is waived if your premium is received with your initial deposit/payment for your trip and you are not disabled from travel at the time you pay your premium), suicide, normal pregnancy, war or any act of war, mental or nervous disorders.
  • Other Covered Events, as defined, includes the following events or their consequences: Post-Departure Trip Interruption due to a cancellation of arrangements by an airline resulting from bad weather (coverage up to $100 (USD) per day to a maximum of $500 (USD)); a documented traffic accident while en route to departure; jury duty; destruction of your residence by a natural disaster; or a documented theft of passports or visas. A Traveling Companion is defined as a person booked to share accommodations in the same room with you during your trip. Sickness or Injury must require care by a Physician and must commence while the Travel Protection Plan is in force for you. This plan does not cover a loss that results from an illness, disease, or other condition (of you, an Immediate Family Member, Traveling Companion or Business Partner), event or circumstance, which occurs at a time when this policy is not in force for you.

Alaska Airlines shall not be liable for any inconvenience, loss, damage, injury, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned by reason of defect or through the act or omissions of any person or company performing or rendering services, other than carriage by air. The services described online other than carriage by air furnished by Alaska Airlines, are furnished by independent contractors who are not servants or joint ventures with Alaska Airlines.

Documentation for International Travel

All persons crossing an international border are required by the country of entry to produce evidence of citizenship. Passports are required for travel to/from Mexico or Canada.

Minors Traveling Internationally

Minors traveling without all custodial parents may be required to present a Letter of Consent to Travel signed by all custodial parents. Please visit the U.S. Department of State website at for country-specific information.
