The 3 cities of Pasco, Richland, and Kennewick sit at the confluence of the Columbia, Yakima, and Snake Rivers. Lewis and Clark camped on these shores in 1805, and a young Shoshone Indian woman named Sacagawea served as interpreter, trade negotiator, and mountain guide in their journey to the Oregon coast. The Sacagawea Interpretive Center tells the story of this historic expedition through the experiences of Sacagawea. Coyote Theater at the Tamastslikt Cultural Institute invites you further into local Native American myth and legend - especially fun for children. Walk on the Columbia River shoreline along the 22-mile Sacagawea Heritage Trail. Columbia Park spans 300 acres on the riverfront and offers a zipline, climbing wall, ponds, pools, and even a steamboat dinner cruise. This area is the heart of Washington wine country, on the same latitude as the Burgundy and Bordeaux regions of France, and the sun shines 300 days a year.
