The Long Beach Museum of Art is located on a magnificent bluff-top site overlooking Long Beach Harbor and the Pacific Ocean. The campus includes the historic Elizabeth Milbank Anderson house and carriage house (built in 1912), oceanfront gardens, and a new pavilion with two floors of expansive gallery space for changing exhibitions. The historic buildings are home to administrative offices, the Museum Store and Restaurant. In addition to changing exhibitions, the Museum offers extensive educational programs for children and adults, musical programs, festivals, and other special events.

This behemoth ship of both historic stature and physical size is moored on the coast of Long Beach. Built over the course of a decade stretching from 1926 to 1936, constructing the opulent Queen Mary was an arduous task. The 1,019.5-foot ship saw service as an ocean liner, World War II transport vessel, and now as a floating museum, restaurant and hotel.

There was a time, not too long ago, that a Russian attack submarine in a U.S. harbor would have caused concern. Today, it's a cause for celebration. The Scorpion submarine, a genuine Cold War sub employed by the Russians, now sits near the Queen Mary in Long Beach. Tours of its once-mysterious inner workings are offered daily. Crew berths, the torpedo room, helm, and other areas of the craft are all open for inspection to interested visitors.

The museum is old fire station #10, which was built in 1925 and consisted of the fire station in front and a city repair shop in the rear. The Long Beach Fire Museum is a working museum and the equipment on display is in varying stages of restoration. Every Wednesday, retired and active Long Beach firefighters volunteer their time to work at the museum. At the present time there are approximately 10-14 people that volunteer. They are the museum's resource to the restoration of the equipment and memorabilia.
