Alaskan Brewing Company
The Alaskan Brewing Company became the 67th operating brewery in the United States in 1986 and the only one in Alaska. Chan's Thai Kitchen
It is a wonder of our modern, global world that you can get top-notch Thai cuisine in as removed a spot as Juneau, Alaska. Chan's decor is no-frills, but the lines out the door are a testament to the high quality of the food. Try the cashew chicken, pad Thai, and crunch spring rolls. Red Dog Saloon
The Red Dog has been recognized by the Alaska Legislature for its longevity as the oldest man-made tourist attraction in Juneau. Founded during Juneau's mining era, the Saloon has been in operation for decades. For a time, "Ragtime Hattie" played the piano in white gloves and a silver dollar halter top. Later, in territorial days, the owners would often meet the tour boats at the docks with a mule that wore a sign saying, "follow my ass to the Red Dog Saloon."

Silverbow Bakery and Restaurant
Alaska's oldest bakery is located in Juneau's silverbow building- there has been an operating bakery in this location since the 1890s. Stop here for a breakfast of fresh bagels, try the spinach, pesto, cinnamon raisin, or poppyseed. The artisan breads make wonderful sandwiches, and this spot is packed at lunchtime (soups and salads provide low-carb alternatives). Dinners are eclectic, and might feature anything from Polish pierogies to Indonesian peanut pasta with tofu.
