La Paz, Mexico Overview

Situated near the most southern tip of the Mexican peninsula of Baja California, La Paz is a seaside paradise. Warm Pacific breezes, sunsets over rippled waters, and a rich fabric of local culture combine to create an ideal vacation spot. The city is home to many fabulous restaurants and cultural sights. Stop by the cactus sanctuary, or the Serpentarium before heading for La Paz's world-famous beaches.

A number of solitary islands that sit off the coast host coral reefs choked with brightly colored fish. Opportunities for scuba diving, sport fishing, sea kayaking, eco-tours, and whale watching are available. Turning from the ocean and its many draws, visitors also find shopping for local crafts and historical tours of 16th- century sights in this city built by early Spanish settlers.
