Desert Hiking in "El Tular"

Departure: 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tour runs daily year round, except for Mondays and Wednesdays during January, February, and March.

Description: The Canyon of El Tular hike takes you through two ecosystems - desert mountains and the flamboyant arroyo (seasonal river bed) vegetation. The watershed of this area has nourished medicinal plants and old cactae, which tell the local history. The geology and hydrology of these hills has produced fertile soil that feeds into the arroyo, which you will meander through. Morning City Tour

Departure: 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tour runs daily year round, except for Mondays and Wednesdays during January, February, and March.

Description: On Highway #1 South, you will travel to View Point Frida for a Panoramic Vista of the National Marine Park of Loreto, where the 5 islands can be observed. On your return to town, you learn about the history of the Peninsula. Within the town of Loreto, you will tour the streets and local pier. With more than 300 hundred years of history since the arrivals of the Jesuits Missionaries, the "Nuestra Senora de Loreto Concho" Mission has many stories to reveal on why Loreto has remained so quaint. Finally, you end with "Museo de las Misiones." The total tour time is 45 min.

Includes: Van or bus, bilingual guide, one margarita "Tio Lupe" restaurant, entrance fee into museum.

Extension of City Tour: Cooking Tour of Tortillas and Ceviche.

Description: The most popular dishes in Baja Ca Sur are flour tortillas and fish ceviche. We have all the ingredients ready for your last touches such as molding and spreading the tortillas on a Mexican Comal. You will combine the ceviche with beans, tomato, onions, nopal cactus and other tasty healthy foods. Also included is one margarita per person and lots of fun.

Evening City Tour

Departure: 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tour runs daily year round, except for Mondays and Wednesdays during January, February, and March.

Description: Same as Morning City Tour, except we don't visit "Frida View Point" and dinner can be included on your tour (optional).

San Javier Tour

Departure 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tour runs daily year round, except for Mondays and Wednesdays during January, February, and March.

Description: 22 miles into the Sierra La Giganta, lies one of the best preserved Jesuit Missions - Mision de "San Francisco de Javier Vigge Biando". The dirt road access into the mountains will allow us to visit a small cave painting site, a traditional artesian-water-well farm, as well as serene views of rock formations and desert habitats. At mid-day, we enjoy a hardy lunch of beef burritos, goat cheese, and fresh tortillas. By days end you will be awed how people make ends meet, with very little infrastructure, in a place where history is made by leading a simple life.

Includes: Transportation on air-conditioned van, entry fee for Las Parras Ranch, Mexican meal, and bilingual guide.

Whale Watching

Departure: 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (December - April) Tour runs daily year round, except for Mondays and Wednesdays during January, February, and March.

Description: You will take a serene and easy ride (one hour and thirty minutes) across the Sierra La Giganta, while learning about the flora and fauna of the area. Once you reach the Pacific, you will board a 22-foot fiberglass outboard motor boat, called "pangas". You'll then observe gray whales for 2 hours, and learn about the unique sand dune and wetland system that allows these cetaceous beings to nourish their young. The day is complete once you have a seafood platter with the fresh catch of day comprised of lobster, shrimp, fish and rice.

Includes: Transportation on air-conditioned van or bus, two-hours in a panga, seafood platter, sandwich, snacks, fruit, drinks (soda, beer, water). You can also have veggi, chicken or beef options.

C and C Ground Services and Tours provides airport transfers from the Loreto International Airport to your hotel. Transfers are per person. Shuttle departure times coincide with your flight arrival time.
