Chapultepec Castle
Chapultepec Castle (Castillo de Chapultepec in Spanish) is located on top of Chapultepec Hill. The name Chapultepec stems from the Nahuatl word chapoltepec which means "at the grasshopper's hill". It is located in the middle of Chapultepec Park in Mexico City at a height of 2,325 meters (7,628 feet) above sea level. The building has served several purposes during its history, including that of Military Academy, Imperial residence, Presidential home, observatory and currently museum. It serves today as the Mexican National Museum of History. Worth mentioning is the fact that it is the only castle in North America that was ever used as residence by a ruling European sovereign (during the Second Mexican Empire).

Chapultepec Zoo
Chapultepec Zoo is a Mexican zoo located in Chapultepec; it is one of four zoos near Mexico City. It was founded 6 July 1923 by Mexican biologist Alfonso Luis Herrera using donations from private citizens and governmental funds from the Ministry of Agriculture and Development, and also with funds from the Society of Biological Studies. The zoo is rather popular after a recent renovation begun in 1992 which took two years; estimates of its popularity range from 5.5 million visitors per year to as much as 8 million, who all come to see its large collection of over 2000 animals from more 200 different species.
