Forms of payment

Paying for your ticket

When purchasing tickets at alaskaair.com, payment with a credit or debit card is required at the time of the original booking. Immediate payment is also required when purchasing an award ticket using Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan™ miles.

Where to pay

Reservations can be purchased through our website, over the phone with an Alaska Airlines reservations call center, or in person at an Alaska Airlines airport ticket counter. A non-refundable $15 USD service charge applies to all purchases made over the phone or at the airport ticket counter.

Cash

US and Canadian dollars are the only types of cash accepted at ticket counters in the US and Canada.

Only Mexican pesos are accepted at ticket counters in Mexico. Mexico ticket counters do not accept US or Canadian dollars.

Cashless airports

Guests wishing to pay for their flight, fees, or services at one of our cashless airports will be able to convert cash to a prepaid debit card at a convenient ReadySTATION kiosk for a fee of $5. ReadySTATION kiosks are conveniently located near the Alaska Airlines lobbies used for check-in and our airport team will be available to assist with the conversion. To check if an airport is cashless, please visit the airport guide for additional information.

alaskaair.com discount codes

Our discount codes are electronic discounts that are used to reduce the cost of your ticket for travel on Alaska Airlines. They're only valid for discounts off the base fare and exclude government-imposed taxes and fees. You can't use them for any other types of purchases or fees and they don't have any cash value.

Discount codes can only be redeemed on alaskaair.com. Discount codes cannot be used at the ticket counter, travel agencies, other airlines, or other travel websites.

When the value of your discount code exceeds the ticket price, the remaining amount is forfeited.
