Up to 50% discount on most fares.

You earn 100% of the miles flown when traveling on this award. Money & Miles awards cannot be used with Saver fares. The maximum discount is $100 (USD) off the base fare for 10,000 miles, or $200 (USD) off the base fare for 20,000 miles. available only at alaskaair.com.

Once your ticket is purchased, redeem a First Class upgrade award by calling Alaska Airlines reservations at 1-800-252-7522.

Upgrades can also be requested, if available, within 24 hours of your flight departure through online check-in or on the day of departure at an airport check-in kiosk.

Yes, complimentary upgrades are allowed with award travel.


What Main Cabin award options are available?

Main Cabin Refundable awards offer the most flexibility. These awards are available on every flight, every day, down to the very last Main Cabin seat on the airplane. No change or cancellation fees apply, premium food and beverage choices are available for purchase, and inflight entertainment players are available to rent on select routes.

In addition to the Main Cabin Refundable award, we offer Main Cabin Lowest awards. Seats at our lowest price level are limited and may not be available on every flight.

What First Class award options are available?

First Class Refundable awards offer a premium experience. These awards are available on every flight, every day, down to the very last First Class seat on the airplane. Plus, no change or cancellation fees apply to these awards.

First Class Lowest awards offer the same level of comfort and amenities as our First Class Refundable awards. Seats at this lower price level are limited and may not be available on every flight. Change and cancellation fees apply to these awards.

All First Class awards include complimentary premium food and beverages, 2 free checked bags, express check-in, security, and boarding lines, Alaska Lounge access, and most importantly, a big comfortable seat for your trip.


How do I book partner award travel?

Do I earn miles on award travel?

Award travel does not earn miles, with the exception of Money & Miles awards, which earn at 100% of flown miles.

If I need to make changes to or have questions about my hotel reservation booked with miles, who do I contact?

How many miles does it take to book a hotel?

Hotel pricing varies by hotel, date of your stay, and more. Once I have booked my hotel, how do I find my travel details?

Your travel details will be included in your confirmation email, and can also be found by signing in to your account on Alaska Airlines Hotels "This indicates a link to an external site that may not follow the same accessibility or privacy policies as Alaska Airlines. By selecting a partner link you agree to share your data with these sites." and then selecting Hotel Reservations.


How will the deduction of miles for hotel awards appear on my account?

The mileage deduction will appear on your Mileage Plan account as "Mileage Plan Hotels Redemption".


Are taxes and fees included in the reservation?

Some hotels may have a resort fee that is not included in your price. These fees will be payable directly to the hotel.


Can I cancel my hotel reservation booked with miles?

Cancellation policies vary by hotel, so check the policy of the specific hotel and room type you’re booking before you make your reservation. (Most hotels are non-refundable within 24-72 hours before the start of the stay.)

If you cancel your reservation within the hotel’s allowable cancellation window, all cash and/or miles used to book your stay will be refunded. If you cancel your reservation outside of the hotel’s cancellation window (if there is one), you won’t be eligible for cash or mileage refunds.


What if I have started my hotel stay, and need to check out early?

Once your stay has begun, miles or cash for any unused portion of that stay will not be refunded to your account.


How do I use my cardholder discount when redeeming miles for hotels?

You must sign in to your Alaska Mileage Plan account before shopping for hotels on Alaska Airlines Hotels "This indicates a link to an external site that may not follow the same accessibility or privacy policies as Alaska Airlines. By selecting a partner link you agree to share your data with these sites." in order to see the discounted mileage levels for cardholders. Only the primary cardholder is eligible to receive the discounted rates.


I just got approved for an Alaska credit card. Why don’t I see the discounted prices when shopping for hotels?

It can take up to 2 weeks from the approval of a new credit card account to be eligible to receive the cardholder discount.


How will charges appear on my credit card statement?

Charges will appear on your credit card statement as "RTI*ALASKA", plus the name of the hotel you booked.


Can I earn Mileage Plan miles when I combine miles and cash to pay for a stay?

No, if you redeem miles for any part of a stay, you will not earn miles on the cash portion. If you’d prefer to earn miles instead of redeem, you can earn miles for booking hotels by selecting "Pay cash and earn miles" in the search box on Alaska Airlines Hotels "This indicates a link to an external site that may not follow the same accessibility or privacy policies as Alaska Airlines. By selecting a partner link you agree to share your data with these sites.".

Can I pay for an upgrade?

Upgrade to First Class on Alaska Airlines for as little as $39.00*. First Class paid upgrades may be available within 24 hours of flight departure through online check-in. They may be available on the calendar day of departure at a kiosk, airport ticket counter or at the departure gate.

Upgrade to Premium Class on Alaska Airlines as little as $5.00**. Premium Class paid upgrades are available at any time from booking through online check-in. They may be available on the calendar day of departure at a kiosk, airport ticket counter or at the departure gate.

Paid upgrades are valid on flights operated by Alaska Airlines and by SkyWest operating on behalf of Alaska Airlines. Paid upgrades are subject to availability, do not include stopovers, and exclude industry discounts. Prices are based on one-way trip miles, as shown above, unless otherwise noted. No stopovers allowed. Upgrades are subject to availability as "U" Class may not be available on all flights. The link to upgrade to First Class during online check-in will only appear if upgrades are available for purchase. Fare categories are booked in H, Q, M, N, V, K, L, G, B, O, S, T and Y classes of service. Passengers upgraded after baggage has been accepted are not eligible for a refund of baggage fees paid. The paid upgrade program is subject to change or cancellation without notice.

**Premium Class paid upgrades are available on flights operated by Alaska Airlines and by Horizon and SkyWest operating on behalf of Alaska Airlines. Prices are based on a single, one-way flight.

Other ways to use miles.
