North Satellite expansion rendering

North satellite renovation and expansion

We are working closely with the Port of Seattle to ensure a consistent operation and passenger experience for our customers during this work.

The five-year construction period for the renovation and expansion of the north satellite building will begin in June 2016, and will modernize and upgrade the facilities in the existing part of the terminal, while expanding the building 240 feet to the west.

Upgrading your Sea-Tac airport experience

This state of the art facility will be opening in two phases; the first phase of the new expansion, including the new Alaska lounge, will open in the second quarter of 2019. The full terminal will open in the second quarter of 2021. The expanded and updated facility will include:

  • A third floor Alaska Airlines lounge that looks out over the Puget Sound and our downtown skyline
  • A signature premier restaurant on the third floor with dramatic airfield views
  • More restaurants and shops for the Pacific Northwest traveler
  • Increased reliability and speed of baggage transfers
  • Natural lighting in boarding areas
  • Intuitively arranged passenger waiting areas
  • Robust free Wi-Fi service
  • More electrical plugs at the gates
  • More boarding gates
  • Additional restrooms
