What are discount and companion fare codes?

Discount codes are used to reduce the fare of applicable new ticket purchases by a dollar value and can be redeemed during their offer period at alaskaair.com, hawaiianairlines.com, the Alaska Hawaiian mobile app, and Atmos for Business®. Discount codes cannot be redeemed after the offer period expires, and are forfeited if the ticket is changed or canceled.

Companion fare codes are unique discount codes that are issued annually to the following eligible cardholders. There may be an annual spend requirement. They cannot be transferred or redeemed by anyone other than the cardholder, and expire if not used within a year of issuance. Tickets booked with companion fare codes can be changed within applicable fare rules. Unexpired companion fare codes are redeposited, with the original expiration date, if the ticket is canceled. Expired companion fare codes are forfeited if the ticket is canceled.

Where to find discount codes

Discount codes may be included in your Insider Newsletter, Atmos? Rewards correspondence, social media, e-mail, direct mail, special advertisements and marketing campaigns, or via promotional partners. Some discount codes, such as companion fare codes which are issued to eligible cardholders, are stored in your Atmos Rewards account wallet.

How to use discount codes

  • To redeem a discount code, type the code in the box marked 'Discount' where you select your travel cities and dates or,
  • By selecting the 'Use to book' button next to the applicable discount/companion fare code stored in your Atmos Rewards account wallet. Not an Atmos Rewards account member? Join now.

Using a discount code

  • To redeem a discount code, type the code in the box marked discount code on the same page you enter your travel cities and dates.
  • Discount codes can be stored in your My account profile to be accessed for later use. Not a My account member? Join now

General rules for discount codes

  • Only one discount code may be applied per reservation.
  • Discount codes may be used in conjunction with credit certificates, or Wallet funds. Wallet funds may not be used to purchase tickets with companion fare code discounts.
  • Discount codes can only be redeemed for flights operated by Alaska Air, Horizon Air, and/or SkyWest as Alaska Airlines.
  • Discount codes can only be redeemed for airfare purchases at alaskaair.com, the Alaska Airlines mobile app and EasyBiz for electronic tickets with a maximum of eight segments.
  • Discount codes cannot be applied to Atmos Rewards award reservations.
  • Discount code reductions may not apply to all flights; itineraries consist of point-to-point and through fares* which are used to construct total price.
  • Discount codes apply to original purchases only, and cannot be applied during ticket exchanges. If the ticket is canceled, the value of the discount is forfeited.

*Point-to-point fares are calculated for each flight's departure and arrival. Through fares are calculated from departure city to arrival city.
