Plan a trip to Cincinnati
First settled in 1788 and named after an ancient Roman hero, Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus, Cincinnati is an exciting hub of sports, culture and dining in Southwestern Ohio. Home to the oldest team in Major League Baseball, the Cincinnati Reds (originally the Cincinnati Red Stockings) have played here since 1869. You can also catch Cincinnati Bengals football games, FC Cincinnati soccer matches and Cincinnati Cyclones hockey games. Inside the former train station, Union Terminal, you can explore Museum Center, a complex of four museums: the Cincinnati History Museum, The Cincinnati History Library and Archives, The Duke Energy Children’s Museums and the Museum of Natural History and Science. The Cincinnati Art Museum near the scenic Eden Park has free admission and over 67,000 works of art, including pieces by Monet and Van Gogh. Visit the hip Over the Rhine district (commonly called OTR) where you’ll find historic architecture and Findlay Marketplace, a daily farmers market that has been operating since the mid-1800s. While in town, don’t miss out on a bowl of Cincinnati chili. Order it “three-way” with chili poured over spaghetti and topped with shredded cheese, or add beans or onions to make it “four-way” chili.
