My flight was changed or canceled
If your flight is affected by a schedule change, we will move you to the next available flight. If your new flight works for you, great! We'll see you onboard.

If your new flight schedule was changed by more than one hour, you have some options:
  • Change your flight online to one that better suits your schedule - up to 1 day earlier or later.
  • Cancel your trip online and receive a refund* to your original form of payment.

If your flight was canceled, we will move you to the next available flight. If your new flight works for you, great! We'll see you onboard.

Otherwise, you have some options:
  • Change your flight online to one that better suits your schedule—up to 7 days earlier or later.
  • Cancel your trip online and receive a refund* to your original form of payment.
  • Contact us to cancel your trip and receive future travel credit.

And remember, if your plans change at any time, there are no fees to change or cancel Main and First Class fares. A fare difference may apply.

*Please note: To qualify for a refund to your original form of payment, you must have an active reservation on the impacted flight. If you voluntarily canceled your trip and received a future travel credit before the flight cancelation, you are not eligible for a refund.

We are offering a flexible travel policy if you would like to change or cancel your flight.

Flights may be delayed or canceled. Please monitor your flight status regularly. Sign up for flight notifications and we'll notify you of any last-minute delays, cancellations, or gate changes on your flights by email or text message.

Check airport guides for possible advisories regarding minors 17 and under traveling without an adult and pets traveling in the baggage compartment.

Exception Policy
  • Tickets must be changed or canceled prior to the departure of your original flight.
  • If you purchased your tickets through a third party, such as Expedia, another travel agency, or another airline, contact them directly for assistance.
  • Your flight can only be rebooked onto Alaska, Hawaiian, Horizon, or SkyWest as Alaska flights.
  • If you purchased a nonrefundable First Class, Main, Saver, or award ticket, you may:
    • Change your trip without a fee. No difference in fare will apply for new travel through September 11, 2026, in the same cabin.
    • Cancel your trip without a fee and choose to deposit the funds into your Account wallet, or receive a credit certificate for future travel.
  • This waiver is valid only for tickets issued by Alaska Airlines, which you can identify by a 13-digit ticket number that begins with Alaska Airlines code "027".

No difference in fare will apply for new travel on all flights through September 11, 2026, in the same cabin. Additional taxes may apply. Tickets must be exchanged prior to the departure of your original flight. This waiver is valid only for tickets issued on 027 ticket stock.

If your client chooses not to travel, tickets may also be refunded to the original form of payment.

If your client may also choose to keep the ticket value for later use, you can change a ticket beyond the "reissue by" date of the event waiver. Original flights must be canceled on or before the “reissue by” date in the waiver. Place the original event waiver in the tour code box at the time of reissue to allow changes to a Saver fare. Any difference in fare and taxes will apply. The reissue must be completed within one year from the original purchase date. Original ticket value is good for 1 year from original outbound travel date.

  • Tickets must be canceled prior to the departure of original flight.
  • New travel must be completed by September 11, 2026 to qualify for add-collect waiver.
  • For travelers who do not yet have new travel plans, please cancel all itinerary segments, including waitlists and hold the ticket value until they are ready to reissue. You may also refund the ticket to the original form of payment.
  • The waiver code must be included in the tour code box at the time of reissue.
  • Do not issue the ticket credit in the form of an MCO.
  • Add collect for travel after August 20, 2026, all other fare rules and current taxes will apply.
  • This waiver does not apply to same day confirmed changes

United States

Guests transiting through the United States to/from another country must meet U.S. entry requirements for travel.

Please ensure you meet the requirements for entry/transit for all countries in your journey.

  • All travelers must provide contact tracing details*.
    • In compliance with the federal mandate, we must collect passenger information to provide to the CDC if needed for contact tracing.
    • To save time please complete this information prior to arriving at the airport for your flight to the United States

Important travel advisory regarding CDC screening requirements

Due to the ongoing Ebola outbreak, the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is directing U.S. nationals who've visited the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Uganda or South Sudan within the last 21 days to arrive through Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) for screening. Non-U.S. nationals should postpone travel to the U.S. at this time.

  • If you haven't started traveling, you may cancel your Alaska Airlines flight(s) at alaskaair.com. If you're traveling with another carrier, please visit their websites to manage those reservations.
  • If you are mid-trip and haven’t left the U.S. yet, contact us and we’ll work to reschedule your travel so you can return home as smoothly as possible.
  • If you’re a U.S. national traveling internationally and have visited the impacted areas, your international carrier will reroute your flight to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) in accordance with CDC requirements. To book travel from Dulles to your destination, visit alaskaair.com.
  • If you’re a non-U.S. national traveling internationally and have visited the impacted areas, CDC-related U.S. entry restrictions may apply.
Japan

Japan fuel surcharges

Airlines impose fuel surcharges on international tickets, including flights operated by partner airlines under the same flight code. For flights between Japan and North America or Hawaii, if the yen equivalent of Singapore kerosene exceeds 6,000 yen, the surcharge will be applied. If the average price falls below 6,000 yen, the surcharge will not be applied.
