What Main Cabin award options are available?

Main Cabin Refundable awards offer the most flexibility. These awards are available on every flight, every day, down to the very last Main Cabin seat on the airplane. No change or cancellation fees apply, premium food and beverage choices are available for purchase, and inflight entertainment players are available to rent on select routes.

In addition to the Main Cabin Refundable award, we offer Main Cabin Lowest awards. Seats at our lowest price level are limited and may not be available on every flight.

What First Class award options are available?

First Class Refundable awards offer a premium experience. These awards are available on every flight, every day, down to the very last First Class seat on the airplane. Plus, no change or cancellation fees apply to these awards.

First Class Lowest awards offer the same level of comfort and amenities as our First Class Refundable awards. Seats at this lower price level are limited and may not be available on every flight. Change and cancellation fees apply to these awards.

All First Class awards include complimentary premium food and beverages, 2 free checked bags, express check-in, security, and boarding lines, Alaska Lounge access, and most importantly, a big comfortable seat for your trip.

How do I book partner award travel?

Award travel with all of our partners can be booked online at alaskaair.com or via our mobile apps.

Do I earn miles on award travel?

Award travel does not earn miles.

If I need to make changes to or have questions about my stays reservation booked with miles, who do I contact?

How many miles does it take to book a stay?

Pricing varies by hotel/ vacation rental, date of your stay, and more. To see how many miles it will take to book a stay, visit Stays by Alaska Vacations and search for stays.

Once I have booked my stay, how do I find my travel details?

Your travel details will be included in your confirmation email, and can also be found by looking up your trip or signing into your account at https://vacations.alaskaair.com/trips.

How will the deduction of miles for Stays awards appear on my account?

The mileage deduction will appear on your Mileage Plan account as "EXPEDIA REDEMPTION".

Are taxes and fees included in the reservation?

Some hotels may have a resort fee that is not included in your price. These fees will be payable directly to the hotel.

Can I cancel my Stays reservation booked with miles?

Cancellation policies vary by property, so check the policy of the specific property and room type you're booking before you make your reservation. (Most properties are non-refundable within 24-72 hours before the start of the stay.)

If you cancel your reservation within the property's allowable cancellation window, all cash and/or miles used to book your stay will be refunded. If you cancel your reservation outside of the property's cancellation window (if there is one), you won't be eligible for cash or mileage refunds.

What if I have started my stay, and need to check out early?

Once your stay has begun, miles or cash for any unused portion of that stay will not be refunded to your account.

How do I use my cardholder discount when redeeming miles for Stays?

You must sign in to your Alaska Mileage Plan account on the search results page in order to see the discounted mileage levels for cardholders. Only the primary cardholder is eligible to receive the discounted rates.

I just got approved for an Alaska credit card. Why don't I see the discounted prices when shopping for stays?

It can take up to 2 weeks from the approval of a new credit card account to be eligible to receive the cardholder discount.

How will charges appear on my credit card statement?

Charges for pre-paid stays will appear on your credit card statement as ALASKA VACATIONS. Charges for pay-later stays may have the property as the merchant of record.

Can I earn Mileage Plan miles when I combine miles and cash to pay for a stay?

No, if you redeem miles for any part of a stay, you will not earn miles on the cash portion. If you'd prefer to earn miles instead of redeem, you can earn miles for booking stays by unselecting "Pay with miles".

Can I redeem miles to book any car rental?

You may redeem Mileage Plan miles to book any available car offered on the site. Availability of car rentals is subject to change. Car rentals may not be available in certain locations or at certain times.

How many miles does it take to book a car rental?

Car pricing varies by destination, car type, dates and more. To see how many miles it will take to book a car, visit Rental car deals | Alaska Airlines and select “Redeem miles”

How quickly will my miles be deducted from my account if I redeem them for a car rental?

Miles are deducted immediately from your Mileage Plan account once you click “Confirm Booking” on the Details page. Please allow up to 24 hours for the transaction to show in your mileage summary.

How will the deduction of miles for car rental appear on my account?

The mileage deduction will appear on your Mileage Plan account as Alaska Airlines Cars Redemption

Can I earn Mileage Plan miles when I combine miles and cash to pay for a stay?

No miles will be awarded for transactions made using Mileage Plan miles as a form of payment, including the money portion of a miles and money booking.

Can I cancel my car rental reservation?

Car rental reservations may be cancelled prior to car pick-up date to obtain any refund. Refunds will be made in the original form of payment. Miles will be refunded within 24 hours after cancellation.

Can I change my car rental reservation?

Changes are not allowed if any portion of the booking was paid for using miles. The booking must be cancelled and rebooked.

What happens if I do not show up for my car rental reservation and don't cancel in advance?

If you do not show up for your car rental reservation and fail to cancel in advance, you will not receive a refund. You must cancel in advance to get a refund.

How will the money charge for miles & money appear on my credit card statement?

It will appear on your credit card statement as “ET CAR HIRE”

Can I use my miles to book a car rental for someone else (another driver)?

Yes, to specify the driver for car pickup, enter the driver's name in the Booking details section of the Details page.

Can I call the Alaska customer service to redeem my miles for car rental?

No. Miles can only be redeemed online via Rental car deals | Alaska Airlines

Can I use multiple accounts to make a booking?

No, you cannot combine multiple accounts to make a booking. Each booking must be made from a single Mileage Plan account.
