When the need arises, our inside sales desk is here to help you. One of the tools we can provide you is the use of waiver codes for unexpected situations. US-based agencies have 24 hours from the time the ticket has been issued or reissued to void a transaction in IAR and your GDS and start over. Alaska Airlines is otherwise unable to assist in correcting booking errors.
We recommend that you and your client verify all ticket details, including name spellings and accurate birthdates along with secure flight information before a booking is complete to prevent any reissue fees. Alaska Airlines does not honor verbal authorizations. If you need an exception for issuing or reissuing a ticket, you must have a waiver code in order to avoid a debit memo.
We don't issue waivers for missed fares, advance purchase, missed ticket time limits or name corrections. In any of these scenarios, the ticket will need to be issued or reissued at the current fare. All fees and any add collects will apply.
If you have a legitimate need for a waiver, it is important that you know what to do with the waiver code once you get it.
- The waiver code must be included in the tour code box when the ticket is reissued or you will receive a debit memo.
- The ticket must also be reissued with in the time frame designated by the inside sales agent or the waiver is void. This is typically in the same business day or 24 hours. If the reissue is not completed within the designated time frame you will receive a debit memo.
