When you fly with us, staying connected is easy. On most flights, our streaming-fast satellite Wi-Fi is available for only $8. During your flight, simply connect to our onboard Wi-Fi network and visit AlaskaWiFi.com to learn about the available options.

Streaming-fast satellite Wi-Fi

Fast enough to stream your own Netflix, Hulu, or Xfinity stream. You'll find $8 Wi-Fi on most flights. Satellite Wi-Fi allows you to stream, browse and chat on-board with internet that's more like what you're used to on the ground. Of course, getting online at 500 mph is tricky, so please pardon any brief interruptions in the air. Satellite Wi-Fi is available almost everywhere we fly—with the exception of flights above the Arctic Circle in Alaska.

  • All Boeing 737-800s

*Note: newly delivered aircraft may operate for a short time without Wi-Fi. Movies will be available via AlaskaWiFi.com.


Basic Wi-Fi

Keep up with email, browse the web or shop online with basic connectivity. With this option, streaming and downloading large attachments is not supported. Basic internet service also isn't available when flying to Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, or parts of Alaska. Basic Wi-Fi can be purchased for $8 on E175 aircraft. On 737s with basic Wi-Fi, the price varies up to $24.99.

T-Mobile Benefit

Eligible T-Mobile customers enjoy free Wi-Fi every time they fly. Depending on your plan, you'll either get unlimited free sessions or four free full-flight sessions and unlimited 60 minute sessions. How to connect

  1. Turn on your device's Wi-Fi and choose the “Alaskawifi.com” network.
  2. Open your web browser and visit AlaskaWiFi.com.
  3. Choose what you'd like to do: free texting, entertainment, or the internet.

Tips to enhance your satellite Wi-Fi experience

Courtesy, please.
When using free texting, turn your phone to silent or vibrate. Use headphones when listening to music or watching movies.

Mother Nature may have her way.
While you’ll now be able to use the system once your flight departs the gate, you may notice slower internet speeds during torrential rainstorms, while the aircraft is banking, or if there’s snow or ice on top of the plane. Also, service will be spotty north of the Arctic Circle, and will pause while flying over a small part of New Mexico and while the aircraft is being deiced.

Plan your uploads.

Our satellite internet system is speedy at downloading documents, but you may notice a delay with uploads. We recommend limiting the movement or uploading of large documents (those over 10 MB).

Pause auto-updates.
Here's how:

iOS®:

  1. Tap your Settings icon.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. Hit the iTunes® and App Store.
  4. Use the toggle button to turn updates to the off position.

Android™:

  1. Visit the Play Store.
  2. Click on settings.
  3. Tap Auto-update apps next.
  4. Make sure to select "Do not auto-update apps".

Microsoft OneDrive:

  1. Right-click on the OneDrive logo in your taskbar (next to the clock).
  2. Select “Pausing syncing”
  3. Select the More tab in the top right corner
  4. Select an amount of time to pause syncing, close to your flight length.
